MLCDC Hosts 3rd Annual Omaha Heritage Festival

The 3rd annual Omaha Heritage Festival (OHF), hosted by Midlands Latino Community Development Corporation (MLCDC) in partnership with several cultural and civic organizations will be held on May 18th from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. at the Lewis and Clark Landing. OHF was conceived in 2011 to help bring different Nebraska communities together to share the culture, history and heritage of the different ethnic groups that call Omaha their home.

The 2013 OHF will begin with a parade that will proceed north on 10th street to Farnam, then to 8th street and on to Lewis and Clark Landing to begin the festival events at noon. This event includes children’s and family activities, tents with different exhibits, international food, and live music.

MLCDC seeks to bridge gaps between communities and offer a platform and venue for each community to “speak” to all others through dance, music and other cultural devices. Also, MLCDC works for economic development of Latinos in the greater Omaha area.
